| Carlington, a quiet community located south of Carling Ave, and east of Clyde ave. To the west is Fisher avenue and the southern border is marked by the bike path that cuts through Experimental Farm agricultural lands. Shopping, restaurants and other amenities are provided on Merivale Road, which cuts diagonally through the community.
These include everything from a Loblaws supermarket to its competitor Loeb, to Tim Hortons coffee shops. Many schools, including St. Augustine, St. Pius High School, St. Rita, and Frank Ryan Catholic Senior High schools are nearby for residents of this family friendly community.
Two main parks, Raven Park and the namesake Carlington Park are subtle supplements to the natural expanse created by the adjacent Experimental Farm land. Several recreation areas complement these green spaces, including bike paths, off leash parks and the dome toboggan hill.
Close proximity to the Queensway makes this Ottawa neighbourhood an easy commute to downtown or western commercial areas. OC Transpo stations are well placed throughout the community: specifically, routes 114, 14, 151, 176, and 684 all stop throughout the neighbourhood.
