| Cedar Hill is a small community located ten minutes south of Kanata, or a minute north west of Barrhaven, it is nestled in a curve along Highway 416, near its intersections with Fallowfield and Cedarview.
Built as a Golf community, the majority of the homes back onto CedarHill Golf and Country Club, one of Ottawa’s best semi-private courses. Built in 1964, it was originally planned as a nine hole course, but expanded in 1967 to become an 18 hole course. This opened up plenty of real estate to build along the course, and the Cedar Hill neighbourhood expanded.
With such close proximity to Barrhaven, Cedar Hill shares its amenities. In addition to beautiful landscape along the massive NCC greenbelt, there are several parks in the area, with multiple public parks and playgrounds, and the Walter Baker Sports Centre, which provides a library and a wide variety of recreational facilities.
There is plenty of shopping available in Barrhaven, from grocery stores to shopping areas littered with big box stores like Wal-Mart, Staples and Winners. Several strip malls are tucked away throughout the community for easy access to a variety of shops and services. There is a small tennis club, veterinary clinic and more.
The Fallowfield bus and VIA Rail station provides a variety of services to the area. Three local routes, 170, 186, and 173 loop through the community. The railway services routes 1A and 2A, providing service to Ottawa's OC Transpo station downtown.
